HAHA my cat does this all the time. She's really a sweetheart, but loves to play rough sometimes, and will go all in. she'll hiss, spit, and lunge but never hurts me. I guess it helps that she's declawed (NOT ME! She was declawed when i got her) but she's a lot of fun.

Photoshop won't hurt if you want to add some good raster effects to the type (grundgy, glows, whatever) Illustrator can do them, but only so much. The rest is all After Effects. And no, you don't need a Mac to do this, although I personally use a Mac because that's what they're made for.
