Took my children to see this picture because although I was never in a battle such as this, it seemed that it must have much the same feeling. Omnipresent death. Death from every quarter with no escape. Death without reason. I hoped it would give them a sense of the horror and futility.

When this came out, no record shop would handle it. In fact they would not carry any black musicians. That was until Callico's Record Shop opened in a low rent part of town and papered his walls with everything no one else would handle. Thanks for that!
