The Art Of Stand Up Comedy is a six week class run by Comedian David A. Arnold, writer of Tyler Perry's Meet The Browns and House of Payne. Its students have included Actor/Comedian Alphonso Mcauley, Actor/Comedian Tony Baker, Comedienne Torrei Hart and continues to grow with each class. The course runs six weeks and focuses on The Art of Stand Up Comedy for the beginner to the most intermediate levels of comedy. The class encompasses how to construct a 5-7 minute set, finding "your voice" on stage, question and answer sessions with managers, agents and other industry professionals, performance skills, and the mechanics of writing and delivering a joke.
It's teacher, David A. Arnold's experience speaks for itself, he's had his own TV show on TVOne "Black Men Revealed, he's produced "The Next Level Comedy Series-Light Skin-Dark Skin", he's been featured on HBO, Comic View, One Mic Stand, BET, and not only writes but is featured as an actor in several Tyler Perry productions. He's also performed at the Montreal "Just For Laughs" Comedy Festival, a segment entitled "The Masters" as well as an appearance on Comedy Central's Laffapalooza with Jamie Foxx and Cedric the Entertainer, The Tom Joyner Show, Baisden After Dark, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen and Def Jam Comedy. Soon David will be joining the elite group of comics that have appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. His love for the game of comedy is what drives him to make sure his students shine and walk away with the skill set necessary to make a mark in the comedy world.
