About Me:

Art:In:Exile are an independent six-piece metal band from Australia. Formed in 2002, they have released a self-titled 4 song EP(2006, later re-released through Casket Music in 2008), and a full length album 'Æon Somnia' (2009).

ART:IN:EXILE have brought their unique brand of intensity to the stage in both South Australia and Victoria with many more shows planned. It is through this dedication they have established a solid following of fans and musicians from both Australia and around the world.

On the 13th of November 2009, the epic debut full-length album, entitled 'Æon Somnia', was finally unleashed upon the metal world! It contains ten tracks of Art:In:Exile at their best. Running the full spectrum of music, from industrial (Sober Optic), to melodic death (Signs Of Anti-life), to ambient (Anæsthetise), to extreme (ÆON Somnia) to classic metal (Quarantine).

The band has spent its time refining the sound with producer/engineer Andy Kite from Against the Grain Studio, and Jens Bogren from Fascination Street in Sweden (Opeth, Katatonia, Swallow The Sun), producing a wall of crushing metal, swirling melodies, and soaring vocals.

Mel's voice is at the peak of perfection, crisp and clean singing paired with guttural growling tones. The rhythm section of Tim and Leni has locked down the foundations, as well as shifting the band into new areas. Keyboards are not only a part of this foundation, but Matt also provides the transcendent and ethereal focus across the musical divide. The guitar intricacies loom large in the development of the new release, with Stuart and Rocco shading the music with progressive musical sensibilities.

Truly the pinnacle of all their careers to date!
