About this user

We started Artguise in the summer of 1996 as a way to bring something different to Ottawa. Having both worked in another Ottawa art supply store, we knew what our clients wanted and decided that we could offer more than the usual fare.

Our philosophy is a simple one, "for artists, by artists". Artguise is run by working artists and supplies the best in quality and alternative name brand materials to working artists. We are an art supply store owned and operated by working artists with professional knowledge and expertise which we offer to our clients. We carry a good selection of traditional materials from old world sources for the knowledgeable artist and craftsperson, filling a specialty niche market in this area. We know what we sell because we use it ourselves and that guarantees we can answer your art related questions.

Our gallery sponsors eleven solo shows each year. We love to mix it up by showing traditional work as well as art that pushes the boundaries and asks the viewer to look at things a bit differently. We are proud to showcase new and emerging artists and strive to bring something a little different to the city.

We look forward to many more years of providing quality service and materials to our customers and thank everyone who has supported us through the past seven years.
