When it comes to a battle where the aircraft platforms can perform beyond the capabilities of the human body, it is the skill/endurance of the pilot, the lethality and effectiveness of the weapons/avionics/targeting systems and the strategic positions of the aircraft that determines the winner.

I live across from the Oregon Air National Guard base shown in this video. I've seen an F-15 do this vertical take-off maneuver and let me tell you it's a truly awesome sight! These impressive aircraft together with their well trained pilots help me sleep a bit better.
