I am glad we share many common perspectives. As to the elemental composition of rocks, or anything else for that matter, science deals with the "how"; how the atoms come together, how they crystallise, etc. Once the how has been explained, the why in itself is explained in the process...

I had to check a dozen news pages before I could accept it. But it is so. Christopher Hitchens is dead and it saddens me deeply. I have never had the honour of meeting this exquisite and erudite human being in person, but I believe there are many admirers on YouTube who will agree with me that we...

What came first? The chicken or the egg?
Evolution answered this question for us before the Bible even got a word in. Solid shelled eggs evolved from reptiles, which in turn evolved from soft-shelled offspring producing organisms like amphibians and fish, which evolved from simpler organisms, an...

Well, well, well, this has turned the entire theological debate on its head, hasn't not? If this the best that *exposedatheists* can do to challenge the arguments Prof. Dawkins presents, taking a section of video out of context (confusing babbling for chirping), then consider the atheist position...

I've just realised I've been had! This isn't genuine. It's just a satire. This guy is in actual fact a dyed-in-the-wool non-believer who puts on a Bible Belt accent just so he can mock Christianity. Why didn't I see it before?

Humble ponderer of the mysteries of the universe. When bored, which is often, I perform metaphysical autopsies on religious arguments and the existence of God.The numinous, in the sense of what is true, moral and beautiful, is a subject I thoroughly enjoy and like to discuss with others willing to share their own opinions with me. Otherwise, consider me a rather eclectic, eccentric and extremely chatty member of the human species.
As suggested, here is my personal view on the compatibility between science and religion:
"Science provides the solution by studying the problem. Religion provides the solution by inventing the problem."
And as for the shady premise of believing in an ethereal spectre:
"The sole difference between a friend that is 'invisible' and a friend that is 'imaginary' is how you spell them."
Individual quotes on the subject from other YouTubers are more than welcome to my gallery:
"The feeble minded have always been the most vulnerable to the many malicious threats and tactical manipulations of religion."

"A theist wants to believe. An atheist wants to learn."

"Religion is the ornamentation and embellishment of ignorance."

"Theology: The field of study and analysis of make believe; for the purpose of spinning reality to conform to the human imagination so the control of others can be achieved.
-Scott Tebben -
"The biggest problem with religion is that it moves people to pretend they can explain the unexplainable. Religious people will attribute any (supposed) supernatural experience to their OWN religion, instead of accepting that what happened is just beyond their understanding. And if evidence of a god's existence were found, they would be limited in their ability to understand it as they'd take that as confirmation of their religion's validity. Atheists, on the other hand, would be able to start from scratch and honestly try to learn about this being."
