Betamax! Luckily there are still companies out there capable of converting the stuff to DVD.
Great interview - we love our Dealers down under! To see how the Ecosun Solar Pool Heater is manufactured, head over to our channel and watch our Factory Tour video.
Hi Amy, I think we met in Milwaukee at Solar Thermal 2012. You guys are carrying our Sun-Swim Solar Pool Heater. Would love to help in any way possible to make a "Solar Pool Heater - An Overview" video possible. If there's anything I can do to assist (photos, diagrams) please reach out to me at jdsizelove (at) warmwater (dot) com. Thanks! -Dan
It's Solar 101, really.. you're using a technology that's meant to heat water to temperatures for steam production. It's like using a howitzer to hunt for rabbits. Unglazed solar thermal collectors, constructed of a durable polymer, is the proper way to heat a swimming pool.
Who wants to get out of a pool in 40 degree weather?! Wrong technology for the application. As Solar Hall of Fame inductee Tom Lane once said, "you can freeze a banana to 200 degrees below zero and hammer in a nail, but isn't it easier to buy a hammer?"
Yikes! Looks like a rubber-mat type of collector... Not sure if the manufacturer of your system warranties "acts of God" like hail, but in the future a semi-rigid polypropylene solar collector is definitely more durable for the long-haul.
Very inspiring. This is what swimming is all about. We are in the pool industry, and watching this was a great reminder of why we all do what we do.
