HAIL LORD XENU!

I'll upload random stuff here.

If you're wondering what the Latin is at the top of my channel description, it means "That which cannot be questioned cannot be challenged". It basically means "question everything". If you are convinced that you that you cannot question something, then that something controls you.

Apophenia - The experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data.

Confirmation bias - A tendency to search for or interpret new information in a way that confirms one's preconceptions and avoids information and interpretations which contradict prior beliefs.

Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant!
Age: 20
As for myself, I live in the midwest. I'm what you would call a typical "computer geek". I enjoy geeky things like installing Linux on my Linksys WRT54G router. My interests are very broad, and I enjoy collecting facts. For a time, when I was younger, facts were my best friends. People always tell me I'm smart, but I'm not. I'm actually quite stupid (I once jumped off of a golf cart and had to be in a wheelchair all summer), I'm just good at memorizing facts. but really, other than that, my cognitive skills aren't any better than anyone else's (probably worse. I suck at math). I consider myself a libertarian (the political philosophy, not the batshit insane political party). I also consider myself a skeptic. I believe that "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". I'm generally an optimistic person and I believe the world is headed in the right direction. I don't hate people who disagree with me, in fact I love people who disagree with me, because having a conversation with someone you agree with on everything is boring and not intellectually stimulating. People need to learn that real "open mindedness" isn't about accepting whatever stupid conspiracy crap or new age crap you hear on some website, but is instead about being open to the FACT that you can be wrong. Nothing is true that isn't falsifiable.

My philosophy:
You are not right by default. Truth isn't arrived at just by guesswork. If you have any untested assumptions in your mind, question them. Not doing so is the most dangerous thing you could do. Here's an example: have you ever seen the surveillance camera footage of the 9/11 terrorists at the airport just about to get on the planes they hijacked? Imagine what was going through their minds at that moment. What if they had stopped to question what they were doing? They had this assumption that they were going to spend eternity in paradise for killing thousands of innocent human beings. But if they had just questioned it at that moment...3000 people would not have lost their lives. They couldn't question it, though. They were so devoted to this false idea that questioning it would be an act of blasphemy. But how many people do you think have needlessly died throughout history because someone couldn't stop to ask questions? Millions? Billions?

Most people have opinions that they regard as "truth". These people don't stop to question those ideas. Why would they? They're "true", right? But truth doesn't work that way. You don't arrive at truth by just wanting it. You have to ask for it. You must question your assumptions. The trouble with this is that people hate admitting they're wrong and that's something you must do if you want to seek truth. You'll have to abandon your preconceived notions of what is true and really investigate it.

My point can be simplified thusly: untested assumptions are extremely dangerous even if they don't seem that way. We are given a choice in life: question everything or remain a slave to untruth.

So you're out there reading this on your computer now. Heck, you might even agree with me. Do you like what I said? You shouldn't. You might agree with me that people should always be willing to question assumptions, but the bitch is applying this idea to yourself. When it comes down to the wire where you have to ask yourself "Am I right or am I wrong?" which will you choose? Will you persist in delusion or will you make your best attempt at seeking the truth?

Oh, and if the off chance that you did agree with all that...don't take my word for it! Think about it! I'm just as open to criticism as anyone else. Don't stop thinking! :)

So do you have the balls to admit that you are wrong? I sure as hell don't, but I sure try...

Here's some good quotes:

"I hate conservatives but I really fucking hate liberals." - Trey Parker

"It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring." - Carl Sagan (He's the man!)

"A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have" - unknown source (some people say it was Ronald Reagan, but this is false)

"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent." - Thomas Jefferson

I have steadily endeavoured to keep my mind free so as to give up any hypothesis, however much beloved (and I cannot resist forming one on every subject), as soon as facts are shown to be opposed to it - Charles Darwin

Finally, pardon the narcissism, but here's a few quotes form me.

"That which cannot be questioned cannot be challenged."

"Nothing divides us more than our opinions and nothing makes us more opinionated than our divisions."

"Think for yourself but remember that others can think too."

jay2tails: I'm actually not an atheist myself, but i like a lot of what atheists have to say. That said, I like a lot of what Christians have to say and other religions too, but I don't take any one religion as the ultimate truth of the universe. In my channel description, there's a quote from Thomas Jefferson that I think is relevant here.

As for my own beliefs? It's complicated, but I'm probably an agnostic. I often feel very strongly that there is a deity, but I doubt it ever intervenes in the Universe. So I may also be one of the worlds last Deists.

Are you an atheist?

What's this? A 9/11 conspiritard who thinks I have a "fascinating channel"? Will wonders never cease? Sorry lady, but you seem to have mistaken me for one of your crazy friends. I strongly disagree with your wacky conspiracy bullcrap. I'm not sure what gave you the idea that I'm a fellow conspiritard, but I can assure you that I'm not.

That would be fabulous! If I can find the disk I'll send it to you, I think I may have lost it ;p It's a speech I wrote and gave to my class last year. Sadly they weren't very interested.

You're either secretly racist or you have been deceived by real racists who invented this whole "revisionist" shit to disguise their racism as something more legitimate. Also, you're an arrogant prick for thinking that anyone who doesn't agree with you hasn't questioned it. Now stop harassing me, Nazi.
HolocaustHoax (8 months ago)
ehm im not racist, im not a nazi, i hate hitler. i think your a retard for thinking that holocaust revisionist are nazi glorifying racists -_-. and i dont believe that you have questioned this event cause if you didnt you would respond like a fucking retard
apopheniacMCMLXXXIX (8 months ago)
I also think it's fucking stupid how you assume that anyone who disagrees with you hasn't questioned a subject. How do you know I didn't question it and arrive at different conclusions than you did? It's because you think your answers are the only answers. Fuck you you arrogant asshole. Learn critical thinking and stop being a racist.
