I have been drumming for four years now. I started off as a novice drummer and went into new heights when I first met Hellven, early last year in 2007; and also all rounder versatile bands. With the new-friend band, we began performing in a pub located at Demsey Road. This was when I started to take drumming seriously and also caught up with different kinds of music such as blues, slow rock, funk, bosa nova, basic jazz, latin, reggae, walts, country, chacha and most importantly keeping up to catchy tempo. In all, I will be sure to keep people entertained whenever and wherever we performed.
Before joining Hellven, I had performed at places such as Gashaus, Substation, Ngee Ann Poly, underground IJ Studio, DXO and Down Town East. After understanding the true meaning and value of drumming, I then started getting offers to play at several functions for example, 2008 Countdown at Woodlands and even took part in competitions such as Yamaha 2008 Asian Beats, Matsuri the Gathering(Jrock), and Hollies Festivel(Boys Town School). Hellven made it through the finals for Asian Beats; however we didn't manage to get through the top 3 positions. We went up as an instrumental band, which is not really what the judges wanted. As for the Hollies Festival Competition, we stood at 3rd placing. Surprisingly, we received good feedbacks from all the judges.
So much about me on the drums, this only shows how much I enjoy playing it and entertaining too. I have experienced through different kinds of genre and that builds up my confidence as a performer. I am willing to learn and also very eager to try out new things. For this I am sure, drumming is my passion.
