Here's the low-down on what I'm doing to lose weight and how it works.

1. Figure out what your "maintain weight" calories are and eat 500 calories LESS than that number every day.

2. Exercise for at least 30 minutes, 5x/week.

3. Drink water! Divide your weight in half and drink that number in ounces of water every day.

(4. Make healthier choices as you go along and get better at doing steps 1-3.)

FROM THE VIDEO:

The salad is:
1 Bowl of Romaine Lettuce and Spinach
2 Tbsp Light Vinaigrette Dressing
1/2 Tomato, sliced
1/4 Cucumber, peeled and sliced
1/4 Cup Garlic Feta Cheese
= around 110-130 calories :D

YUM!

Green Tea (and similar Asian teas), English Breakfast Tea and Irish Breakfast Tea need no sweetener if you use 1 Tsp of lemon juice instead (0 calories).

Vanilla chai (and decaf vanilla chai), peppermint tea and bangal spice teas all also need no sweeteners or additives of any kind.

There are SO MANY MORE but as you feel out the samplers you'll get a taste for what you like. I don't like Stash's chai selections very much, I prefer chai from Yoga and Bigelow. I love all teas by Celestial Seasonings. Tazo and Yoga are nearly all good, and usually more STRONG in their flavors. Choice has some really interesting combinations to play with, like orange-peach and vanilla-apple :D

As I learn to eat a more balanced diet, I am buying new things! Yay!

OH I FORGOT to tell you... the whole haul was only $80! I've never had a start-of-the-month grocery trip under $100, and usually it's more like $120. I'm so pleased with this one. $80!

I promise I will make a full video explaining the non-processed eating with Jenny Craig exchanges soon... it's not as simple as it sounds (as I keep learning).

Shanti, I just wanted to say how much of an inspiration you have been for me. I've always been able to lose weight quickly but it would never last and because of you I have really learned HOW to lose weight healthily and what it all means. Watching you from the start I've now made real lifelong changes including eating a nonprocessed organic diet. So far I've lost 20 pounds! You've done so great and you're so inspiring!
