My name is Anthony Duran. I am a independent recording artist known as "20 The Remix", who has been writing, arranging, and producing original music since 2004. I am a live sound engineer by day, and have a project studio at home where I produce my own music.
It is hard to explain my "genre" without seeing me live, but if you can imagine P.O.D. and Eminem mixed with Linkin Park, that would probably be closest to describing me.
...but probably not... :D
I find that being the producer, musician, writer, and engineer in the studio, really helps me to make music in the most personal way possible. Although I am learning to use different instruments, I bring in professional musicians as well to record for my projects, and I generally complete all of the mixing myself before sending the songs out to a mastering house.
I have grown a lot in my style, as I learned to make music more from the heart, than trying to cater to a certain audience. Because of that, I believe my music is able to inspire a bigger audience than ever before, it feels great and I am very honored to be a part of that.
One thing that is unique to my performances, is that probably 70% of my concerts have been in County Jails, State Corrections Centers, and even Maximum security prisons. One of the reasons for that, is I can easily relate to that audience on a level that is personal and close to my heart. I came from sleeping behind a 7-Eleven when I was fifteen years old, and had my share of mistakes and regrets from there.
But I want to inspire as many people as possible through my story and how my life was able to change, and I believe that this music is the perfect medium to do that.
