Anthony Cochran was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. His vocal styling is infused with sounds of bluegrass and gospel, like those that surrounded him during his childhood. An eclectic mix of rock, folk, country, blues, and jazz is made cohesive by his often personal arrangements. Anthony moved to New York City in 1989 to realize his other passion, interior and furniture design. In addition to creating interiors for clients from the financial and celebrity worlds, he is the co-founder and creative director of Q Collection, the premier eco-friendly home furnishings company in the US . In 2003, Anthony started studying voice with the brilliant singer/songwriter Juliana Nash, a Columbia Records artist. For the past four years he has worked with Melissa Cross, the world-renowned creator of the Zen of Screaming brand. Beyond teaching the art of phrasing and connecting with a songs meaning and storytelling, Ms. Cross has inspired Anthony to find his own voice. October 2006 marked Anthonys sold out debut in New York at the famed cabaret club, Dont Tell Mama. Since then, Anthony continues to pack houses at Dont Tell Mama, The Laurie Beachman Theatre at the West Bank Café and at the acclaimed Metropolitan Room.
