Saucy soul, rock, smooth jazz, and heavy heart blues, bound together as well as sand works with paper. Aniqa throws deep, coarse, pure honey back on the table, giving listeners a rich, sweet, familiar taste, but with a modern twist. After years and years of training, self preparation and growth this mere seventeen year old is ready to blow your mind with her own unique blend of passion and creativity.
Born on November 9th, 1992, she spent the first seven years of her life in Dubai, UAE. Even from the meagre age of five, she had a deep interest in music, and was first introduced to Indian, Pakistani, and Arabic music because of her foreign background. All of these influences left quite a mark on the young enthusiastic artist. After learning the most basic theory and piano, she moved to Toronto, Canada, and soon after made the GTA suburbs her home. It was there that she introduced to jazz, blues, rock, pop, and funk, and really found her platform.
At age eleven, she started taking vocal and guitar lessons and she was accepted into Cawthra Park Secondary School a local arts high school as a vocal major. She has excelled in music at school and is currently in her final year. With her extensive vocal training she has gone on to win many vocal competitions. Aniqa has won the local Canorient Idol competition two years in a row.
After a long, very dedicated road, she continues to spend her time creating and developing her work, sound, and personal outlook on life. She is finally breaking into the music business with passion and talent that will propel her into a new status in the industry.
With the vocal chops of a professional, an unbeatable style, and an unstoppable drive, shes a promising, new, young talent on the scene. Watch out, because you aint seen nothin yet.
