We rescue pit bulls from idiots who chain/fight them. We vet them, rehab them, train them, and get them into responsible, financially stable, loving homes. You can see some of our dogs on Luv-A-Bulls Rescue website at www.luvabulls.petfinder.org The first year we started rescuing pit bulls we had no idea that there was literally nobody in the area who cared to help. No rescue or shelter would touch a pit bull, especially if it came from a chain, so we decided to start helping the dogs no one cared about. You can see how we started by turning our laundry room into an emergency kennel when a backyard breeder/dogfighter decided to give up his last 7 dogs. We had no funds and didnt know what we would do but bully lovers from 3 states come to help us and all dogs got vet care and all are in forever homes. They all has sarcoptic mange, hw, and various other parasites/injuries. Years later, we now have 14 foster homes and have learned through trial and error how to be a productive/respoinsible bully breed rescue. We have rescued over 300 pit bulls at this time and currently (2011) have community support and many volunteers! I dont recommend everyone start the way we did but somehow we got through all of it. Rescuing 7 at once isnt the smartest but in retrospect it was good life/learning experience and I dont regret doing it. The dogs that came from that first rescue changed the lives of the people who adopted them and affected in a positive way, all the people who heard their story of survival. If you love pit bulls, start out small and keep the faith. Dont give up on these dogs just because everyone else turns their back. If we ha,d 300 dogs would be dead or still suffering. :0) Keep up the good work fellow rescuers and dont forget its okay to ask for help! These dogs are worth it and they deserve all the support they can get!!
