Klemmer behaves like a complete jackass in the novel whereas in the film he appears to be more like a sound bloke...albeit at the very end he ends up behaving like the idiotic dickhead he actually is (Erika is just an objectified woman;she plays music composed by men, and her entire life is ruine...
