It began with a fascination of Paul Simon and his music. This led to the purchase of a guitar followed by years of self-inflicted torment as the result of refusal to take lessons. Dozens of horribly banal and witless songs were interspersed by a few gems until the songwriting craft was finally honed enough to consistently write songs worth hearing.
In that time the art of composition, mainly for film, was also under development which eventually brought about scores for 5 short films. Two of those films, The Promethean and Der Ostwind won top awards at several internationl film festivals, the latter also being selected for the prestigious Sundance festival. 4 years were spent as part of an acoustic duet known as danteploy, from whence came a series of unique, carefully crafted songs. Lack of funding and friends prevented the recording of more than 3 songs.
