If you want to change say the pitch or the tone of an individual. you must click on the piano roll. find the specific knob that changes that individual patterns pitch or tone and right click and click create automation clip. it will create a clip for the whole song but just for that specific patt...

@FayeAndEddie technically music is any combination of pitches or notes... they have songs of complete silence.. the whole bit of the song is the noises around the person that creates a composition.
