When a dog owner follows me home for showing my preparedness to defend myself from his loose dog, that is a separate incident from the earlier loose dog confrontation, and that dog owner is liable to be charged with following me and making threats, using what are called 'fighting words'. this site also explains 'dogs & territory', quote; The dogs had gotten out of the yard numerous times and roamed the neighborhood chasing children into their homes. As a result of this, the dogs had established a large area that they considered "THEIR TERRITORY...and the children were looked at as prey or competition to that territory."

any medium or large dog is capable of inflicting serious, even life-threatening injuries. if it gets on the loose and runs out of its own yard into the street barking and chasing you, it is giving a clear signal of hostile intent. a dog which can be backed off by a grown man, is still mentally capable of attacking a small child and inflicting the kinds of injuries shown in these dog attack videos.
