My main synth is a Synclavier PSMT, which in the "Space Music" series is all you hear. The only softsynth I used in #3 was Absynth, and that was strictly for sound design only. I had the Synclav sample the Absynth output for playback. Other than that, I added a convolution reverb, and that was the only plug I used in the final recording. The Synclav is a strange machine, but nothing compares to the sound of it--which is why I stay away from too many effects! I have nothing against soft synths. I've just used them so much in the past that I decided I needed to work with hardware for a change. I've been really happy with what I have so far.
