About this user

I have been playing drums and percussion since 1996 and it is my one true passion. Most of my performing has been with original artist, as I feel that working with songwriters allows for greater musical expression. I consider myself to be a musician first and a drummer second. I strive to be an artist who always enjoys the magic of music, pursues opportunities and continues to take my ability up to the next level.

Study: I have had formal training on the drum kit for the majority of my playing years. I believe that it is extremely important to have a mentor for an artist to fully develop and I have been fortunate to have been taught in Australia by the following: Darryn Farrugia, Graham Morgan, Ryan Menezes, Rod Gilbert. I also completed Foundation in Music Performance Improvisation (Jazz)
at The Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne, Australia.

Projects: Over the years I have worked in several original and covers projects covering styles from jazz standards to alternative rock. These projects have covered 100s of gigs, national touring and professional recording sessions. Some projects I have been involved with are:
• MojoRising original dance/pop/rock project. Toured Australia and now relocated to LA
• Mark Spano Australian Idol 3rd place 2008, original alternative rock
• Rockford original acoustic rock project, drum kit percussion, toured regional Victoria
• Lydia Phillips original singer songwriter, folk/country, drum kit and percussion
• Finn original singer songwriter blues project, drum set and percussion
• Marissa Skovron VCA graduate, jazz quintet/sextet performing a range of standards

i play professional acoustic drums (yamaha or ludwig) and use roland electronic gear which allows me to integrate triggers, samples and loops in to my sound, have no problems playing to a click, holding a groove, or getting busy when required, and love getting involved with anything thats musical and has a lot of soul.

i strive to be a performer who always enjoys the magic of music, persure opportunities and always keep pushing to take it to the next level.
