To an extent. It is definitely about patience and taking things slow and make sure your horse is catching on and doing everything right at a slow pace before even thinking about pushing any faster. Speed is honestly a very small part of a horse's barrel racing training.

you really need to go back and get control of this horse... he is was too pushy and not listening well enough.

one thing to think about is if you are having trouble with your first barrel, PLAY IT SAFE, dont add too much speed and allow them to blow wide because then you are going to have a larger problem on your hands with trying to them get them to rate, collect and turn the barrel. Keep playing it safe...

@HorseLoverSarah its not cruel, these kind of people are just trying to be on tv, or in the papers to for attention. they are worthless and i strongly choose to stand up to them as long as the look down on what i do for a living.
