My name is Paul Eagle some of you know me as MISTER GROOVE. I'm sure a few of you have seen my name all over the internet connected with the talk box. I'm a musician who has spent several years studying various musicians in the R&B and Funk genres in order for me to learn the instruments I play... one of my favorites I learned off of was Roger Troutman lead member of the group ZAPP. I use to use the Yamaha Dx100 programmable synthesizer with a custom talk box built by myself. But these days I use a Korg Microkorg, Korg MS2000 and Korg R3 with my Pro Series Talk Box. I've been building my own brand of talk boxes since 2003 but before that I was just using a Electro Harmonix Golden Throat talk box with either a MicroMoog, Novation Bass Station or with a Korg X5D between 1988 to 2001 til I got myself a Yamaha Dx100 in 2001 after seeing Roger Troutman on stage using one at a '98 concert at the Cincinnati Zoo. I build and sale what is known in the music industry as a old electronic analogue device called the voice box or talk box. What's different about my talk boxes from the ones currently on the market is 3 things: they are extremely loud, has a warmth to them and gives off a thick sounding presence. I choose them to give off a POWERFUL sound talk boxers dream of having while playing and recording vocals but can't achieve on their own or have the necessary knowledge of how to... so here is where I come into the picture and your chance to finally get a signature sound of your own! You can basically use any programmable analogue or digital keyboard with a talk box for example... Minimoog Model D (Roger Troutman) Minimoog Voyager, Korg MS2000, Ensoniq ESQ-1 (Roger Troutman II) Yamaha CS1X (DJ Snoop), Yamaha AN1X, Korg Mono/Poly, Novation Bass Station, Novation Nova II, Korg MicroKorg (Terry Troutman), Korg R3, Quasimidi Sirius, the old Yamaha Dx7, Dx11, Dx21, Dx27 and of course the Dx100 (Roger Troutman, MC Magic, Teddy Riley, Fingazz)... just read the manuals and learn about how to program and edit the preset sounds on those keyboards and you can make any sound you can imagine. The Pro Series Talk Box can be yours for $200 and comes with instructions for the amplifier thats included and EQ settings to get the power sound you seek in a talk box.
