I got interested in YouTube because I was interested in anarchism. Originally I thought this was some great community that was seriously interested in discussing and advancing freedom, but I now realize that this community is splintered and confused and a far cry from any sort of movement.

What is worse, I feel alienated from this community because I am a woman, and because the majority of men, even in would-be radical schools of thought, promote the patriarchal power structure through their words and their actions. They are anti-authoritarian until their privilege is challenged.

I now consider myself an anarcha-feminist, and I consider the discussion of dismantling patriarchy to be integral to any attempt to dismantle the modern systems of oppression and promote an anarchic society.
