I found a new passion of ice skating in November of 2010. Before then, I've never been on ice before. I think I watch Ice Princess, and the other ice skating movies at least once a week if not more. Other interesting facts about me... I play the clarinet, I love to kayak, water ski, and paint. I recently came to the conclusion that my lifelong goal is to own and operate an ice rink.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I think I'll probably start with group lessons and see where I go from there. Not sure if I will have the time to compete right now, we'll see in the future, depends on how much I suck. lol Anyway, best of luck with your skating. As an adult, I hope I end up as good as you are some day. Cheers from a Wisconsin fan. :)

I think you are doing great with your skating! Motivates me to get started. I just skated for the first time ever today. I was like a crippled person but I still loved it. I am thinking of taking lessons but I'm not sure if I should wait until I feel comfortable on the ice or if I should start immediately before I start adopting bad habits. Did you start with classes immediately?
