Amy Black & the Red Clay Rascals is an American roots music band fronted by singer Amy Black. We cover the tunes of Johnny Cash, EmmyLou Harris, the Louvin Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Gillian Welch, Alison Krauss, Keb Mo, Brandi Carlile and many other talented musicians in the genres of classic country, rockabilly, bluegrass and blues. About Amy Black

I've been singing in front of crowds since I was a kid, but only in recent years have I really begun to find my voice. I fell hard for Bonnie Raitt's music at 16 and have come to love all types of American roots music. My southern roots (Alabama) may be the reason I'm so drawn to music that has themes and instrumentation of the south.

The last year has been a big one for me. I launched (for lack of a better word) my music career (at 36, I might ad) in January 2008. Since that point, Ive had sold out shows, was featured as a Best Bet by the Boston Globe and was recently featured in the Lowell Sun. Ive been thrilled with the response thus far.

The guys and gal I play with have helped make all this happen -- Andy Sicard, Bob Sevigny,Eric Pohl, Fred Bement, Jon Cummings, Rich Hamilton and my little sister, Corrie Jones.
