Before the "Credit-Crunch" took hold in the latter part of 2008, Bo Pilar and the Mountain Valley Boys were high-flying investment bankers. They spent their days gambling with people's pension funds, drinking champagne from the shoes of hired lady friends, and helping to keep the Columbian economy afloat with their lavish parties and regular restroom breaks. When their sub-prime investments went sour they found themselves destitute. Their sports cars and country piles were repossessed and their credit cards were cancelled. The only possessions the bailiffs left them with were their musical instruments, which had never been played. Desperate times called for desperate measures, so the resourceful boys said goodbye to the world of high finance, packed their instruments and headed north where they could survive on just a pound a day. They hitched a ride as far as Cradley Heath, West Midlands. At once they felt as though they had arrived at their spiritual home. Upon seeing the deprivation and abundance of charity shops and line-dancing classes surrounding them, they knew the locals would empathise with their plight and welcome them into the fold. Bo was so moved he immediately wrote 5 albums worth of heartbreaking tales of poverty, loss and despair.
