I used to know a guitarist who loved playing this song with my old friend Joe on blues harp. Good guitarist. He'd play the riff and Joe would double his guitar on harp. They did a solid version. That's how I learned the song.

This is so fine. His voice like caramel and the mix rich too. Marley was a preacher, a shouter and a choral singer, but Burning Spear is low and rich and does vocals like a rhythm instrument, percussive on top of the mix. Rrrighteous.

@crazydiamondnumber9 Just to give you an idea of his familiarity with this - I first heard this song on an album called, well, BACK TO THE BARS. It was all live in small venues.

@gdooz What's amazing is he's been this singer for DECADES. Since the 70s. He's been in this business for roughly 45 years. And he STILL sounds like this! Jay Black of Jay and the Americans can still sing "Cara Mia," but guys like that are the exception, not the rule.
