About this user
As a Survivor of Hospital-acquired Necrotizing Fasciitis (Man-eating Flesh Disease) I am compelled to expose all that I am learning about the unfairness of the MICRA Cap and other Medical Malpractice laws in the state of California which protect hospitals and doctors at all cost.
Every area of the business sector utilizes cost of living increases. The MICRA Cap was intentionally drafted without one and therefore the 250K limit is worth less that one fourth of its intended value in today's economy.
It's time to speak up California. United we can make a change.
Infections contracted in hospitals are the fourth largest killer in America. Every year two million patients contract Hospital-acquired staph infections and MRSA among others, and an estimated 103,000 of those patients die as a result. That's as many deaths as from AIDS, breast cancer, and auto accidents combined.
Ms. Magazine reports that as many as 90 percent these deaths could be prevented with simple adherence to proper hygiene practices and infection control procedures.
PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE...THEN OUTCRY! IS THE ONLY THING THAT IS GOING TO MAKE OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS PAY ATTENTION.
It is time for Public Reporting of Hospital Infection rates in the State of California, screening for MRSA and accountablity for hospitals that fall short of the mark.
Now is the time for FAIR restorative justice for victims of medical negligence.
Now is the time...AMEND THE CAP!
