what is striking is that just 20 years ago nearly all the cars were british, kids werent obsessed with looking beautiful, people were happy with less; now most cars are german, japanese or french, we manufacture nothing, 3rd rate celebs are role models, and we moan that the economy's buggered.

most of the actors in this film are northerners, so you should be impressed they bothered to put on any london accent at all, be it north or east. parallels with 1975 genesis always struck me...vocalist, shy character who hides behind makeup, leaves to explore other world music stuff, guitarist leaves as keyboards too domineering, lots of fans left missing the old stuff but lead singer will never go back......

cannot criticize the singer, he knows the song; even if PG was singing, he wouldn't necessarily sing it like he did 36 years ago. Better than nothing, I guess. You're better off watching a tribute band though, I saw Musical Box and they were great.

I cannot think of another band who have improved with age to this extent. At school in 1980 I thought they were crappy popstars (they were) but stress and drugs have made artists of mr gahan and mr gore.
