Well, this is a belief of the naive, so maybe J's age has something to do with it. She's young and idealistic, and maybe a little too emotional about some things. The suggestion that votes or opinions should go along ethnic lines is silly, and a little bit racist, IMHO. This is what bugs me about those who call themselves "liberal". They often defend the "underdog" but don't seem to realize that such defense is a form of racism. Its like they are saying the life of the underdog has no meaning without their intervention or support. I'm just about holding everybody to the same standards, regardless of their ethnicity. They can vote the way they want, and I believe they are all EQUALLY capable of making their own decisions and seeing through any "bullshit" anyone tries to sell them.

I agree. A multi-cultural utopia IS an illusion. There are just too many differences among the various cultures to make this work. The only thing that works is for the host country to have a certain set of standards established for how we interact and how we communicate. Suggesting any other way is wishful thinking at its worst. This is why I am against the EU, as are many of us, rational human beings in ALL COUNTRIES. The idea simply CANNOT work...it goes against ALL that is human nature.

Not sure, but it all started with usus53, AFAIK. The guy got pissed at me because I owned him in a debate about the war in Iraq, and then got even more upset when I dismissed his obsession with homosexuality. Here it is, almost 6 months later, and he's still following me around like a love-sick puppy. I tried to tell the guy that I'm into women, but he just won't give up. Oh well...I guess its nice to have a fan. At least I don't have any of my own photos up. I cringe at the thought of what he'd do with them.
