Alex "Stripes" Klimovich (born June 4, 1989 in Belts,) is a Canadian Recording Artist from the city of Richmond Hill. As a rapper, he performs under the mononym of "Stripes." As a trilingual speaker, Stripes is able to write and rap in all three languages. At the age of twenty, Stripes experienced a tragedy in his life, the death of his mother. Not only had he lost his mother, but his father is also no longer in the picture. He currently resides with his sister, the only family member left in the country. With the experiences he had gone through, Stripes has big dreams leading towards the music industry.
This interest of music, especially within the genre of Hip Hop, began at the age of fourteen. As a recording amateur, Stripes continued to record songs for personal usage until the age of seventeen. The passion continued to grow, and the dream had to become actuality. In his words: "My favourite quote is: if you failed to plan, you planned to fail. For me, without a goal or a dream in life, there is no point of living, there is nothing to wake up to, nor work for, there is nothing to earn, and there is no struggle to gain happiness. The only happiness there is to life is through ones dreams and goals. Goals and dreams are things that you are passionate about and want. When you achieve those goals and your dreams come true, you are able to meet new people, and live new experiences. The road you choose is what makes you who you are. Without all of that, there is no you."
His musical influence comes from talented artists such as Tupac Shakur, known for his hit single "Changes" and Eminem for his Oscar winning "Lose Yourself". Stripes brings out a unique sound that varies. Although he is a rapper, he is able to bring out a wide selection of types of songs. He enjoys the challenge of creating a variety of music, with different beats, flows and change in lyrics. He has been able to perform at colleges, high schools, bars and restaurants. His mission is to perform in front of a sold out crowd in the heart of downtown Toronto. His future goals are to collaborate with big named artists such as: Jay-Z and Eminem and to share his passion for music with everyone in the world.
