The Camel Wrestling Festival is a uniquely Turkish cultural event which needs to be cherished a it helps define Turkish individuality at a time when globalisation and the unity of the single currency are eroding Pan European national identities. Celebrate diversity, appreciate and enjoy other nations and cultures.

I am against the exploitation of animals in any situation: Bull fighting, fox hunting etc.
The camels do not fight each other at the festival they exhibit normal behaviour as they attempt to exert their authority in the mating season. No camels are hurt during the festival. In fact the pepole in the crowd are more at risk. The camels compete for just a short time in December and January and then are kept in luxury for the other 10 months of the year.
