Happily married with three grown well-to-do children. Worked in the same field for 38 years and plan to retire. Healthy,Christian, and gaining wisdom moreso everyday. New horizons ahead.
I have loved music from my earliest memories. At the age of 3 or 4 in the 1940s my parents had a record player,Philco. It had a recording capability and I would try to play their records on and got in kid trouble. In the 1950s, my mother and I faithfully listened to the Your Hit Parade on TV and I'd write down the top 7 songs of the week. We'd try to guess what would be #1 the next week. I remember in 1958 when "Get a job" made #1 and it was over for the hit parade. I had discovered pop radio. In San Francisco, the station was KOBY. It was hooked to my ear constantly. I collected record surveys and continued to collect the surveys through the 60s. For my 16th birthday, my Dad bought me a Wollansak reel-reel tape recorder. I curbed my record buying and began taping everything off the radio. This continued until 1981. In my teens I had acquired a couple of hundred 45s. Then my senior high school year, I left my records at a friend's house after I left the party. They decided to play frisbee with the records and my collection went ka-poop. But now with E-Bay, swap meets, estate sales, etc, I have about 2000 45s. Like many collectors, hearing the top 40 tunes over and over is a drag. So I've searched for the obscure ones. Those are what I like to share here on Youtube. Enjoy.
