About this user

I've been playing the drums since I was about 2 years old, and the congas from about 8 years old, with help from my Dad. As a kid I mainly studied in the arts of rock, latin, jazz, reggae and Motown. During this time I also played in school bands learning different aspects of the percussion section, and how to read sheet music. I started double kick when I was about 14 years old, and have been mostly an extreme jazz influenced speed metal drummer since. My 3 main drumming influences are: Michael Shrieve, Keith Moon, and Neil Peart. The brown maple drum kit was custom built by my Dad and I, which we started back in the 80's. The white drum kit is a 1972 Rogers concert kit. So after playing fluently for 30+ years, I find basic drumming very boring, and am now on my quest for the holy grail of drumming. I might end up being misunderstood by some, but it's a whole new level of well being for me. Think of acoustical levitation, that's how I feel when I apply the knowledge and skills I've acquired.
