About Me:
-- John Gilbert eJazzNews
Multi-lingual jazz vocalist Allison Adams Tucker has a passion for world cultures and the communication of music that binds us all. She began singing before she could speak, raised in the home of classically trained musical parents in her native San Diego, and has performed in front of audiences since her childhood. Her love for studying languages also began at a young age, and she has gone on to live, study, and sing in 6 languages besides her own. Her travels have taken her to 15 countries, with a large piece of her heart and her life spent in Japan and Latin America. This wanderlust is found in the music she chooses today with jazz-based rhythms and music of Brazil, France, Italy, Latin America, Japan, and the US. Her debut CD "Come With Me" was nominated Best Jazz Album 2009 by the San Diego Music Awards, and continues to receive radio airplay in 18 countries. Allison can also be heard on video games such as "The Saboteur" and tours internationally, including performances in Japan, Italy, and France. Allison has shared festival and concert billing with jazz greats such as Kenny Burrell, Poncho Sanchez, Mindy Abair, Pete Escoveda, Sheila E, Tommy Campbell (Carmen McRea, Ella Fitzgerald, Branford Marsalis, Manhattan Transfer, Dizzy Gillespie), Gene Jackson (Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves, Wayne Shorter, Christian McBride), as well as Sony Music artist Toku and Universal Jazz artist Ken Ota.
