I'm here to vlog journal my journey throughout my WLS(weight loss surgery). I have PCOS which has caused ongoing weight gain and many other problems. My goal is to put my PCOS in remission forever and to help others who are suffering from PCOS. As my screenname suggests, I'm ALL FOR LIVING and for living life to the fullest!

I have learned so much from watching so many video blogs here from others who have undergone WLS. My goal is to begin sharing my journey with you as well.

I began steadily putting on weight somewhere between 2000 and 2001 at the age of about 27. ( I have never been a big eater. On the contrary I have always been very health conscious in my dietary choices.) From there I've steadily gained somewhere between 7 - 10 lbs. per year. No matter what I've done: baking foods, not frying, limiting carbs, walking, working out at Curves, etc... I've consistently been gaining weight. I've had many other problems that could not be explained over the years as well. Finally in the fall of 2007 I received the diagnosis of PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). I was familiar with it but truly had no idea of the complexity of it. I began researching, and trying to find anything to help me come up with some sort of solution as to how I could lose this weight knowing I have PCOS which makes it all the more difficult to lose weight. I found one video here on YouTube where a physician explained so much about the different hormones that make it nearly impossible to lose weight with PCOS. In this same video, he spoke of how weight reduction surgeries truly give the PCOS patient something that they could not achieve on their own. At that moment, it hit me that there was a way out of continuing up the spiral of continual and consistant weight gain. My OBGYN initially put me on Glucophage. It made me so sick. I could not take it.

I want to add that although I am not as heavy as most are when they have a WLS, I am able to recognize with my syndrome (PCOS) that without a WLS I will continue to gain weight. This is my way of avoiding the next decade(s)battling with gaining another 100 lbs or more. If I can avoid that, I will have the opportunity to very possibly avoid developing diabetes, avoiding all of the other health problems that obesity causes (Hypertension, High Cholesterol, Heart Disease) and it will bring my odds down on developing cancer --as this is also another high risk factor for PCOS patients. I love my life and I want to be here for my wonderful family for many many years.

I have chosen to have the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy in November 2008.
