El trabajo que realizamos Colectivo Alicia en Oz, consiste en una profunda exploración de la iconografía religiosa como punto de partida para la investigación de entornos culturales y, fundamentalmente, su aportación estética en la construcción de la imagen y la experimentación resultante de ambos.

Precisamente en esta puerta abierta de la experimentación de temas, técnicas, conceptos y procesos estilísticos es que se encuentra nuestro trabajo como una propuesta resultado del encuentro con sus imágenes e historias.

Más que un trabajo de recopilación informativa e iconográfica, es un trabajo de reinterpretación de las mismas. Tomando como referencia esos entornos geográficos tan dispares y extrapolados entre si y su engranaje iconográfico religioso resultante, se construye una imagen y un discurso totalmente diferente a su original inspirador. El trabajo de reinterpretación de estas imágenes, se afinca en la transformación e interacción constante de estos acervos iconográficos con referentes provenientes de diversos circulos religiosos y espirituales dando como resultado imágenes híbridas cuya lectura difumina las barreras entre unos y otros volviendolas casi imperceptibles.

Dios@s, santos, deidades y virgenes representativos de ambientes culturales específicos, son el objeto fetiche por excelencia del Colectivo Alicia en Oz. En el acto que provoca el arte, se exponen al proceso de desmitificación y se convierten en nada mas que en personajes con historias; relatos y leyendas que, no obstante, se autoescriben y transcriben en el soporte inquietante de la imagen para contar una única y verdadera historia, la que cuentan apenas mostrarse.
