Beginning / Intermediate Level Axé performance workshop. Taught by Raffaella Falchi of Sambamora Brazilian Dance Company and Alfie Macias of ¡Blocura! & Loco Bloco as part of the Rhythm & Motion Fall Performance Workshop 2009. This second of two pieces "Vem Samba" was performed at the ODC Dance Commons 351 Shotwell st. San Francisco, CA on Dec. 6th 2009. In addition to this workshop, Raffaella teaches Architecture, Design & Dance to high school students of San Francisco. The favela stage sets were designed and created through these classes. Raffaella's students study the brazilian favels urban design, history, culture and how they build and maintain community. Students also used only recycled materials. Tiye Sheppard and Christian Duarte participated in both the set creation and are performing percussionists in this piece.
