An amazing piece of history. So thrilling. Isn't the baritone there in the ensemble Boris Christoff? It certainly sounds like him - so we have Callas, Corelli and Christoff. Wonderful

I saw thus as a concert performance at the Proms. I forget which year, but never forget the astonishing singing by the whole cast. A LIfe changing evening. Years later I conducted Calisto with the late Susan Chilcott in the title role. Wonderful

I was thrilled to see a copy of a Royal Choral Society poster of a 1953 performance of Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius. WB was, of course the Gerontius, and I saw with interest and pride that my first organ teacher, Arnold Greir, was playing in that concert, as organist to the Society.

A great pity that this young man cannot do the first thing for good singing - and that is his tuning. He is constantly FLAT and embarrassingly so. Doesn't he have a voice coach? He is truly terrible.
Absolutely wonderful - everything is so fine about this great, great singer!
