@666sacrosanctity666 - You're right for the most part. When I talk to people I simply say metal, and that covers everything from the 80s to now. If I'm going to describe a bands sub-genre it is either
1. BAD ASS
or
2. SUCKS ASS.

@brasingtonlane it refers to the Roland TD-303 drum machine. It was originally supposed to be for guitar players and such but then it was used to create the first acid techno. These things range around $1200 now for one in bad condition. There's also various mods you can add to a base 303 as well...
