Tried both the 10-22 and the Rem 597 and hands down you probably want to go for the 10-22. With the same ammo, the 597 jammed much more often. Also, if you wanna customize it (which most people want), the ruger has a ton more options.

Longer board, also you're not always in the waves, the paddle is used to navigate around since the board would be harder to move around in the usual surfing way
