The celebrated WORKSHOP SOUND... the WORKSHOP BAND now a three-man BOND.
Workshop the band is an experimental three piece band born out of frustration for free expression and virtuosity...
Workshop's roots can be traced back to the late 90's when Joey Buhain (Vocals/Guitars) formed the band, but it wasn't until early 2000 that the unit became a viable entity. With a line up featuring a keyboardist and a lead vocalist( who eventually left the group real fast..).
During this period came a few lineup changes, finally settling down to lead guitarist/vocalist Joey Buhain, drummer/vocalist Dennis Sales and his brother Julius Sales on bass and backing-vocals.
Workshop the band are up there and is one of the definitive cover band of the country. They might not have been as commercially successful as bands like Side A, Eraserheads, Rivermaya but in terms of coordinated vocal pyrotechnics and extremely high vocal ranges, neoclassical guitar riffs and astounding scales, the virtuoso style WORKSHOP the band are amazing through and through, they even garner the respect of their critical peers, the local bands and even an international band FIREHOUSE was impressed.
In 2004, Workshop threw themselves at work making their first recording project. With the help of Romeo Babao, Kenneth Tan Schneider and Aldrine Fermin, Workshop's debut album "WORKSHOP" was released under AXL RECORDs label. The industry's dwindling position and sales, however, worked against the bands efforts ... but somehow the group managed to survive.
Years later, true to form, work on a re-make/re-packaged album is progressing, with photo master/artiste Edwin Loyola helping out. The new album took production to a new level of perfection ,and with it an advocacy of helping out kids with cancer. This project dubbed as ONE BAND ONE MISSION ,SAVE KIDS WITH CANCER is a collaboration project of AXL RECORD's, WORKSHOP THE BAND AND EDWIN LOYOLA.
