'm the oldest of seven in a family of nine. I'v lived in the wilderness / bush of Alaska my whole life fishing on my dads' commercialal fishing boat. As we were growing up our dad wrote children's stories for us while we were on anchor or blown in by a storm or camping in the wilderness. In 2002 we were in Ketchikan, Alaska having the latest addition to the family. At that time, the time came for Da to retire. Being a family boat, my brothers and I had no desire to go fishing alone or on someone elses' boat. So we took the stories that Da gave to us and started our own company, Alaska Wilderness Family Productions. The name was given to us by other families that we fished with because we lived deeper in the wild than any one else they knew. We drew the pictures and collated the stories, going to try to sell them to the tourists that came to Ketchikan every summer, but the cost of printing was to high. So we had Da read them and record three stories to an audio CD and took that to the man in charge of the tourist industry in Ketchikan. We were told that he was a shrude business man who did favors for no one. When we finally got to meet with him we pitched our proposal and gave him the stories to think about it. The next day he told us that for a percentage of what we would sell he would help us. His name is Dave Coats and he owns the Salmon Landing in Ketchikan. He became one of our best friends and biggest fans. That season we sold 3,000 CDs to people from all over the world and got such great responces that we put together all the stories we could and convinced our parents to go down south to promote the stories and become famous. As things go, it took time, but in Nashvill we found a man who became our manager. He asked Da to write the story of how we got there, but instead Da wrote the whole story of our lives in Alaska, from when we got to Alaska, to when we met him. Now there will be a movie made about it in `09 and this May we are going back home to Alaska to film a documentary about the animals, places and peopol of Alaska, as well as the way real Alaskan bush peopol live in the wild.
