Larry Carlton AND Pat Metheny on this same album? AND Jaco Pastorius? What is this, Steely Dan? Joni clealry never played in the minor leagues!

This one makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. What a tragedy to lose Jaco Pastorius. This is the empty sky'ed open wasteland of the road. The haunting devastation of loneliness.

I consider myself one of his 6.5 billion fans...

1977... When Steely Dan revealed that they were orders of magnitude above all other pop musicians. All it took was this track. Just this. Nevermind the fantastic rest of the album

I could go on....

I've heard many, many songs in my life. But this is one of the absolute best. Regarding Mr. Purdie, there is a saying in sports: "if you can do it, it's not bragging".... As for today, only Pat Metheny perhaps works this hard...and he didn't get his start in this timeframe!

This reminds me of Donald Fagen's 'Teahouse on the Tracks', from his kamakiriad album....

One of the things I loved about this show was that, as pompous as he was, as self-centered, when it came down to it, Frasier ALWAYS would do the right thing, no matter what it cost him. To me, the rooftop dinner he put together was the essence of the best of him...

It's hard to believe, but ....yes, he is, in fact, this good.... I don't know which I like better, this one or Tug of War. Anyone can be a 3chord rock headbanger. But to create works like these, that's another thing altogether.

I had forgotten this song long ago. Forgotten just how very good it is. This 'Thrillington' certainly sounds worth a look!
