@Milahi1935 - I am not sure I would call Roshan Saab mediocre. The notes and the modulations are a function of the song and the lyrics, and I would assume adding them for the sake of adding just to accentuate a singer, would do nothing to enhance a music director's reputation.

The Music Director Ravi had the nickname "ektara Ravi". He generally used just a single prominent instrument in most of the songs. Great song nevertheless.

Let us not forget the fantastic voice of Sri Madhapeddi Satyam who has very effectively rendered the padyam. No credit taken from SVR who is my favorite, but the voice of Madhapeddi blends in just as marvellously.
