Anything Is Valid Dance Theatre was founded in 2006 by a group of dancers who wanted to take contemporary dance out of the theatres and onto the streets with the hope of increasing the audiences for the art form.

Inspired by the 'flashmobbing' culture, AIVDT took to the streets with fresh determination to demystify contemporary dance and make it more accessible through performances in public spaces. AIVDT specialises in improvisation, installations and innovative choreography for a found audience. The dancers hope to surprise, intrigue, confuse and inspire those who manage to catch a glimpse of their strange and engaging performances.

AIVDT has become one of the most successful new performance ventures for contemporary dance. AIVDT has performed at various arts festivals, and has recently featured in the new Empire Of The Sun video clip

AIVDT aims to contribute braveness to the world and to keep breathing culture into places where you would least expect it.
