@UndeadInsanity the pilot was very limited as to how many Gs he could pull due to all the stuff on his wings. He thought that perhaps turning one way first would help. Whether or not it did or not, I don't know.

S-92 helicopter autorotation (power off landing)

@airplaneit Only 100 helo but CFI/II and with plenty of autos. I very must prefer the ability to glide and analyze the situation rather than look through my feet to my landing options. But then again, I'm also a glider pilot, so airplane gliding comes naturally.
