I don't see why the haters be hating this video. If you'd done step by step changes on one of YOUR photos there's little to no chance that the exact same settings can be applied to THEIR photo.
Saying what setting you altered and then showing the result of it was much more useful.

Star Trail Time Lapse
During the night of 5.-6. january 2009 I tried to capture some star trails. This video shows the single frames and the resulting image.

@dlees1367 Anything wide will get a lot of the sky in frame, so 35mm and below. But I've taken star shots on my 50 and even my 135mm, just depends what kind of shot you want.
But yea, usually wide angle is a good choice :)

@ResarfNz Looks like Todd was using an ND filter, most likely a graduated one to darken the sky while the sea and foreground is allowed to expose more. You can see him cleaning it with a cloth at 11:42 shortly before going back in the lake for another shot.

@Whatisright If you want to be super anal then yea, the focal length of the lens doesn't physically change just coz you put it on a crop sensor body. But because of the crop it resembles the appearance of a lens with a focal length 1.6x longer (with canon's APSC, 1.5x for nikon's). So for all int...

@47nightman Basing lens choice off what one person used in a single video is a bad idea. They used each lens for a specific purpose within this specific video, doesn't mean the same lenses should necessarily be used for everything else in general.
