Jascha Heifetz plays Bach Chaconne (part 1)
I know there is a video recording of Heifetz playing the chaconne but he is very old there. Here is an earlier recording when he was in his prime.

@aimson you are quite right, i can't possibly think of anyone (except maybe itzhak perlman) who could possibly match up to the old masters - menuhin, heifetz, kreisler... though today's masters are still absolutely phenomenal
